How quickly can I sell my iPhone?
Many sellers complete a same-day public meetup after they submit contact information. Timing depends on both sides’ availability and the meetup city.
Pricing
How much is my iPhone worth?
Your iPhone’s cash value depends on model, storage, carrier status (unlocked vs carrier-locked), and condition (New, Mint, Good, or Cracked). Portland iPhone Buyback lists those estimate columns on the live prices page; the final number is confirmed at inspection.
What affects the value of an iPhone?
Price is affected by model, storage capacity, whether the phone is unlocked or carrier-locked, and condition. Cracked screens use the Grade C column. Water-damaged or non-working units are quoted after we see them.
Does storage capacity affect the price?
Yes. Higher storage usually pays more on the same model. Each capacity has its own row on the Portland iPhone Buyback price table.
Does carrier status affect the price?
Yes. Unlocked iPhones pay more than phones locked to AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. Both are listed as separate columns on the live table.
How long is my price quote valid?
Quoted ranges are estimates based on current market values and the condition you describe. We typically honor the same quoted range for up to 7 days if the iPhone matches the information provided and passes inspection. Market values can change, and unmentioned defects change the number. You are never obligated to sell.
Condition
Do you buy cracked iPhones?
Yes. Portland iPhone Buyback buys cracked iPhones in Portland and the surrounding metro area. Cracked-screen estimates are listed as Grade C on the live table and confirmed after inspection.
Do you buy broken iPhones?
Yes. Portland iPhone Buyback buys many broken iPhones, including units that will not power on, have camera issues, or need repair. Live table prices assume a working phone; damaged units are quoted after photos or an in-person look.
Do you buy water-damaged iPhones?
Yes. Water-damaged iPhones can still be sold. Tell us what happened when you request an estimate. The cash number is set after inspection, not from the working-phone table.
Do you buy carrier-locked iPhones?
Yes. Portland iPhone Buyback buys eligible carrier-locked iPhones (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) in the Portland metro. Unlocked devices pay more; you do not have to unlock the phone first.
Do you buy blacklisted iPhones?
No. Portland iPhone Buyback does not buy iPhones that are blacklisted, reported lost or stolen, iCloud-locked, or Activation Locked. IMEI is checked at the meetup.
Process
How does the quote process work?
If the estimate looks good, submit your contact information so we can confirm the details and arrange a public meetup. Bring your iPhone with you to the meetup for inspection and payment.
Where does the meetup happen?
Portland iPhone Buyback meets customers at convenient public locations throughout the Portland metro area. We do not conduct residential meetups. Typical spots include Powell’s City of Books, Washington Square, the Gresham Police Safe Exchange Zone, and Vancouver PD lots.
Do you have a store?
No. Portland iPhone Buyback does not have a traditional retail storefront. It is a mobile service-area business. Customers meet at public locations rather than visiting a shop.
What happens during inspection?
At the meetup we check the screen, buttons, camera, battery, and IMEI. If the phone matches what you described, we honor the quoted range. If it does not, we give a revised estimate and you can walk away.
How do I get paid?
You are paid on the spot at the public meetup in cash, Cash App, or Zelle. Payment is confirmed before the iPhone changes hands. We do not mail checks or use wires, gift cards, or crypto.
Do I need ID to sell an iPhone?
Yes. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Portland iPhone Buyback also shows ID. Both sides identify themselves before money or the phone moves.
Security
Do I need to remove my Apple ID?
Yes. Sign out of your Apple ID and turn off Find My / Activation Lock before the sale. We can walk you through the steps at the meetup. We do not buy Activation Locked phones.
What is Activation Lock?
Activation Lock (Find My iPhone) prevents a new owner from using the device. Portland iPhone Buyback does not buy iCloud-locked or Activation Locked iPhones. Remove the lock before the meetup.
Should I erase my iPhone before selling?
Yes. Back up your data, sign out of iCloud, and factory-reset the iPhone before or at the meetup. Personal data should be erased before payment is completed.
What information do I need to provide?
We need the model, storage, carrier status, condition, a meetup area, and a phone number so we can text or call. At the meetup we need the device and government ID.
How do I prepare my iPhone before selling it?
Back up your data to iCloud, sign out of Find My iPhone, remove your iCloud account (Settings → Your Name → Sign Out), and perform a factory reset (Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone).
What if I don't know how to wipe my phone or turn off iCloud?
If you do not know how to wipe the phone or turn off iCloud, we can guide you step-by-step at the public meetup before any money changes hands.
Do I need to include the box, charger, or original cable?
The original box, charger, or cable is not required. Bringing them can sometimes slightly increase the cash estimate.
